Honda Motor Co. said Wednesday that U.S. sales rose 10.2 percent in October, boosted by higher truck sales.
The automaker sold 110,502 vehicles during the month, up from 100,270 vehicles in October 2003. Those sales consisted of 61,309 cars, a 5.1 percent increase from a year ago, and 49,193 trucks, a 17.3 percent jump.
Honda division sales rose 9.6 percent to 93,761 vehicles, helped by the Civic, as well as the Odyssey and Pilot sport utility vehicles.
Acura division sales rose 13.6 percent to 16,741 vehicles. Sales of the brand's best-selling car, the TL luxury sedan, jumped 11.4 percent to 6,717 vehicles. Sales of the MDX luxury SUV rose 6 percent to 5,233 vehicles.
American depositary receipts of the Tokyo-based automaker rose 15 cents, or less than 1 percent to $24.80 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
